    Better ways than what?

You didn't say how you are learning it. Or why for that matter.

It's probably normal if you're Jewish or living in Israel.

Otherwise, it's quite an unusual language choice, but hey.

It is definitely NOT normal to learn Hebrew. Few people on this planet speak the stupid, outdated language and unless you want to live in Israel (and it is the worst country I have ever been to) or do business with Israelis, why would you waste your time?

Lots of people in Melbourne, Australia, speak Hebrew. Because they're Jewish.

Latin is a dead language, but it is considered very useful.

      Antiquity doesn't equal redundance.

I would be willing to wager that every single Hebrew speaker (especially in Oz) has at least one other language. "Don't you think Chinese, on the other hand, might be the valuable language to learn?" asks the self proclaimed old guy, of the younger woman.

Most people who speak a non English language find it profitable to learn English. What of it?

Learning a Chinese dialect may be "more beneficial" but how exactly do you define what is beneficial for any given peraon, in this instance? And who are you to say that any one language is less or more viable than any other?

I am someone with enough brains to realize that China will be the next great economic power on this planet, therefore, it just might be "valuable" to be able to understand the language and converse with them. Benefit is usually derived by economic need, however, you are absolutely right, the OP may learn any damn language he or she pleases. But am I not allowed to give my opinion? I guess I should keep my opinions to myself because YOU don't like them, huh?
And lastly, smartass, "Most people who speak a non English language find it profitable to learn English. What of it?" I did not ever mention ENGLISH in my post, NOT what I even suggested.

I'm in complete agreement. But perhaps the OP is a Jewish drifter that wants his parents to pay for a 10 year religious sabbatical in Isreal, so he can smoke dope and contribute to the trashiness and disgusting corruption of the country.

A point I hadn't thought of, thanks. On those grounds, of course, who wouldn't want to learn the language?

Is it really worth it? Easier to stay away from Isreal. Learn something else with more value.

Why are you learning Hebrew? Are you Jewish?

I have been wanting to learn this language too. I find both the written and spoken form to be very beautiful. I hear that watching foreign films that are in another language, can help you learn that language. If able, put the subtitles on.
