Is it normal that i am not excited for valentines day?

I'm not feeling excited for it, not because I'm some single pringle dude but rather because I don't feel happy for it.

I personally hate it when most of my friends rub it in front of my face that they're having the best time of their life on that day which makes me hate it even more.

Perhaps I'm looking at it at a very different outlook about it however.

It's normal. It's just another day to me, and was while I was in relationships as well. I just see it as an opportunity to eat good chocolates! 🤣

Honestly, it sounds as if your friends really aren't having that great of a time if they're busy trying to make you feel bad by rubbing it in your face. Why would someone who enjoys something try to purposefully make someone feel bad who doesn't get to enjoy it? They don't sound like much of friends if they enjoy trying to make you feel bad about it.

The stores in my area have gotten smart about that shit. They stop ordering more holiday candy two weeks before the holiday and there's barely any candy left the day after. I used to be able to stock up on large bags of candy for 25 cents each. XD

There was one valentines day back forever ago this mapco in the hood had the big valentines resees for only $0.25 a pop after valentines day and it was for the big ones. I spent like $7 bucks and walked out with like 10lbs of candy lol

Those half pound Reeses cups are so good! They're like makeshift pies.
          XD
I looked up what a Mapco was and we don't have that brand of gas here in NY. It's always nice to learn something new.
          :)

I found some clearance candy hidden behind some boxes of cereal at Rite Aid this morning. It was half off, not 90 percent off, but I'm still happy.

          XD

I didn't know they changed the recipe. I haven't had that candy in years. Maybe they'll bring the classic flavor back one day.
    :)
Edit: I just looked some stuff up and apparently the original recipe for those hearts isn't available anymore because the company that made them Necco went out of business.

Valentines day is a day used by the patriarchy to allow the foricble rape of women. Yes go for dinner with your partner. Yes he MUST pay. But do not put out unless you feel like he has earned it. Men are pigs and they will try and rape you if you let them.

What are you on about? How exactly is a day celebrating love between couples "allow rape"?! Also how can a woman be raped, if she AGREES to and WANTS sex? As it's the norm for a couple.

Also isn't feminism about equality? Man pays his half, woman pays hers. I always handle the bill, because I'm a gentleman and it's how I was raised, but if we're gunning for perfect political correctness - I (as a man) should only pay half of the date.

Do you do this out of spite, or do you genuinely believe the garbage you write?

I just don't understand why this annoys you so much. I would really read some feminist theory and educate yourself before you talk to others like you do.

It's just another day to me. I don't 'do' relationships so what is the point of it?

I don't see anything special about it.

Valentine's day is the worst day of the year and should be banned.

I like vakentines day though I wouldn't want to go out for it. Order a pizza or gril up some hot dogs and watch some romances while cuddling sounds great to me though

Why do I feel like you only enjoy valentines day because it's an excuse for your man to splurge his resources on you, and you'd be upset if he didn't?

I've had q relationship like that I hated it, it felt weird. No I just like the theme of valentines day plus an abundance of chalky candy wich is my favorite. The most that ever gets splurged when dating me is a nice meal and maybe drinks. Wich in my area without drinks is 50 bucks after tip wich we take turns paying for. I'm not a gold digger. Never have been likley never will be.

Neither my last ex-girlfriend nor I care about Valentine's Day. It's the same for both of us, it's just annoying.
