Reality is what is. Your reality is indeed what you perceive but YOUR reality may not be THE reality. My reality is a different reality. Everybody has his own reality.
I have to smile here.
I think reality is beyond the mask of perception. How can it be reality if everyone sees it differently?
Reality is an illusion, caused by the deficiency of alcohol or drug consumption.
It is true that what our senses allow us to percieve is only a small part of what kinds of things there are to percieve. It is also true that your experience is the only reality you have. That is, if you live through being the Queen of England, and nobody else believes it, you have to admit that there is something "real" (In the terms of how it matters) that is beyond our perception. If you can't tell what is real, then yes, it might as well not be, but it's quite possible later you will look back and see that it is a product of your mind, and then you would never have the entire real experience of being the Queen of England. That, and it would probably be nothing like the queen's life. I'm sure it would have the opposite effect socially.
Of course. Think about the time delay from light bouncing off of surfaces before reaching your eye. There is a delay. Then factor in the speed in which you process the sensory information. If the sun explodes it would not be visible to us for a few minutes.
Check out sensory deprivation tanks, DMT/Tripping experiences, and the Epoc EEG. YouTube Terrence McKenna - Culture is your operating system. As for the Epoc it can be purchased with an SDK to develop software. This allows you to control computers depending on the brainwave pattern it reads. They already have cars you can control with your mind.
Stop watching garbage on TV and start reading about real life. It is wicked trippy trip trip trip.
Reality is perception and we also play an active part in creating our reality. Check out Carl Jung or the Seth Material if you are truly interested in finding out more.
