Is it normal that i can never concentrate in class?

Is it normal that I'm in capable of concentrating in class? I'm in my final year of college but this has always been the case for me. I'm surprised I managed to get this far. Looking like I might fail this year but I just can't concentrate. I feel like going to class is a waste of time, but if I decide to skip class and do some assignment work instead it just never works out.
I find my mind wracked with fantastical realms, from series I like, or things I've made up, and I doodle constantly. If I don't doodle I find that these thoughts overload my mind and I keep spacing out. I'm not going to do well in this course, and I do regret doing it, but I don't really know what any other options could be available to me. Also it would be a balls to fail the final year when I'm only 3 months from completing it. I've made a mess of my FYP though...

In summary: is it normal that I can never concentrate?

I agree with the other posts that ADD and stress are possibilities that should be considered, but there's another aspect to this. Maybe you're in the wrong curriculum. Are you studying what you're studying because your parents chose it for you and you felt obligated because they're paying for college? Some of the trade careers are very rewarding and make good money. My son told me straight that he wanted to be an auto mechanic and I financed his tools and helped him get into trade school. Now he's the top service advisor and is making 6 figures and owns 2 homes. Don't let anyone pound you into their mold. Choose your own path.

Sounds like ADD, perhaps speak to a doctor about this. It's normal to be unable to concentrate in class sometimes, but if it's a constant problem, that should probably be addressed.

Lack of concentration could mean several things, from ADD, to mild neuroses, which could be from a stressful home life.
