Is it normal that i can not chose art or science

All my life i want to study medicine ,i have good grades and everyone tell me that i am very smart however since i start to study arts ( i play the bass, guitar and draw) i am not sure about what of the two are my major science or art .
It is normal that i can not decide being so close to university ( i graduate next year)

To get a career in Art is a lot more difficult than medicine, you will struggle to get any sort of full time job (Music wise you may wanna join a band but the market is heaving with them at the moment, you'd have to play a lot of free gigs and art...well most artists don't become famous until they're dead) so maybe you should go for Science? Safer option and it will open a lot of doors, but keep your artisitic side for your hobbies

Most artists don't do art for the money. Use your art as a way to deal with the pressures of life. If it ends up being your focus, so be it. Don't worry about making the wrong choice- you can always change your major.

Why not do something with art and science? They have a few degree for this. Like computer graphics, pyro teknition stuff like that.

(Part 2) In a way, I'm glad that I'm not going to go to art school. The art industry has unfortunately become extremely pretentious in some circles. The art critics speak bullshit. I don't think that I'd be able to deal with that 24/7. There's also a lot of injustice. The people that are hardworking and in the industry for legitimate reasons are often the ones struggling. And, the pretentious ones are often the ones winning acclaim. I'm not trying to discourage you. Just play it smart and get your back up degrees. You can work on perfecting your arts on the side.

I was in a similar predicament. I loved art and I wanted to become an artist, but then I got sick and I could properly pursue it. Then, I thought about become a photographer. However, I wanted to only work with analog and it would have been difficult for me to get in the industry if it is filled mainly with digital. I would have also had to work with people and I am not very social.

I've always had a special "bond" with astronomy and botany. So, I have decided to possibly double major in those two for college. I want to be a writer too, but have those degrees in science will be a great fall back plan in case I don't become a successful writer.

I'd say science again like most other suggestions due to career choices at the end making a living.

Med school is highly competitive and a lot of work...it is also vocational, so once you've finished there aren't many options open to you. Arts is a lot of work and it can be tricky to make a living of arts alone.
Why not go down the science path and do music on the side. In the long run it can supplement your income whilst being something you enjoy :)

Most med schools in the states don't care what u major in and actually it looks good when it's something different. Idk how it is where u are. If that's the case, I'd say major in art and be sure to take all of the science pre-reqs, too. I am a double major in biology and history and I plan to go to med school. The only reason I am a bio major at all is because it was only like 2 extra classes once I did all the pre-med stuff.

I had the same choice to make as you - I'm both creative and scientific. I did what all the other posters are suggesting you do. It was the right decision.

^^^^ Art is harder to get into than medicine? I don't think so. But i do agree go down the science route and learn music and drawing in your free time.
