Is it normal that i can't talk to my crush in person

I'm in eighth grade, and for some reason I can't talk to the boy I like in person. I've like him since first grade and even "dated" him for almost two years in elementary school, but whenever I try to talk to him now I freeze up and can't think of anything to say, so I usually just avoid any kind of situation where I may have to talk to him. Is this normal or it is just me?

      I liked him since first, I dated him in fifth. And fourteen is not that young
