I take nail clipper and push it into my skin and then clip it, wish is completely painless it just leaves a piece of your skin that was in the nail clippers detached. I like the way it looks and how oh feels when u touch the little indents the are left behind... Although I'm worried that this may be a form of self harm..??
I do this, more so now thatt the skin on my fingers is hard from playing guitar, though i hate the way it looks :/
If you are purposely doing this to cause yourself harm, then yes it's a form of self harm. Habits such as this you can easily break out of given you have the determination to do so.
you mean the skin under the nail with the fingerprint? i used to chew on that part so much that the top of my fingerprint went away for a bit! i have clipped this also. had to stop bc i worried about infections. i also bite the inside of my cheek the same way.
If it's the dead skin in the side of your nails that you're talking about which doesn't hurt or bleed when you cut it then it's normal. And if it's not hurting you then it's not self harm. Sometimes I cut this skin off too just for fun. Haha.
I chew my fingers so they bleed and put needles under the skin. I don't know if i've used nail clippers.
