Is it normal that i constantly think about how life started?

Okay, I ALWAYS think about how the world started. Like it just came out of nothing? It's because there has to be SOMETHING right? There can't just be nothing? I always think about it and it drives me nuts. I also think about how the human brain works and how it's weird how every word has a meaning and our brain can just process it so quick and other people instantly know what were saying. Is this normal or am I crazy?

Totally normal!!! I think about it all the time and I always hit a wall because it's wayyy too much for us to try and conceptualize. But I definitely think it's normal to wonder how it all began. That's the reason why I am Agnostic. I know there is obviously the Truth, but I acknowledge that I will probably never know what that is.

I love thinking about this. Your computer comment was funny-- I often feel ( or maybe just imagine) that things like Hollywood and Government are rigged, that its like an insiders club that puts on a show for the rest of the small people, everything kind of predetermined, mocking the population.

As for the universe and the mind, I think that as amazing and incomprehensible our own human intelligence and cognizance is, our minds have kind of a finite capacity to grasp concepts and to learn, probably for our own good. The understanding of the universe is beyond human capacity, but not necessarily beyond all capacity.

How arrogant (and ignorant) of us to think that, in the midst of the vast, inexplicable expanse of the universe, that we are the most intelligent creatures. I also think it is ignorant to assume all life forms would/do mirror our own, despite the fact that we (our planet) is/are such a tiny speck of existence in the known universe. Just because our life forms are based on organic compounds like nitrogen doesn't mean that others are. Not all possible forms need to drink water, or breathe air. that is just on earth, in our life system. There are colors we cannot see, and sounds we cannot hear, because we don't know them. And for the sake of any kind of enjoyable existence, I'm not sure humanity needs any additional information to process. Maybe everything I just said is wrong. Sorry for the tangent :)

All of existence is fascinating. Think about how perfectly things are organized- that all energy and magnetic forces create perfect order. How is it that the solar blaze we orbit and the rock we call the moon appear exactly the same size in the sky, when viewed from earth (at least from my house) How is it that molecules self-assemble in a way that functions so intricately, like the human body? If we are but a sum of our parts, how does consciousness develop? Since everything is energy, the brain and thought being no exception, might our whole experience be an illusion self-created in the mind? If electricity is a naturally-occurring phenomenon, is there electricity in outer space?

    Fun, huh!

Abiogenesis as the "start", evolution as the ongoing process, sunlight as the energy source to keep the process going. (no magical dad on a cloud molding things from clay LOL)

Read the Bible,Genetics, etc. But I am sure you'll be annoyed if you read the Koran coz it had a business of not knowing how exactly the Allah created human beings.Sometimes, from the "clot",and then,"water", and then..Ooops.Shit stories

Yes, it's normal, and make sure you write some of your thoughts down. You might be right.

  • Okay that's good :) I'm always afriad though that "i'm not really here"... like this is just a program that was made up for me, and that the point is that I can experience, LIFE! It sounds crazy, but it could be a possibility right? How would I know for sure that it's not like that? What if this is some computer program? I can't stand not having answers.

Ooo! Except for the computer program aspect, I'm actually starting to think that way too...that we are living this reality simply to experience life. I think more from the side that we all chose this experience. In the unlimitedness of our choices this is what we chose and the reality that we created together.

I'm just like you! I think the exact same things. It's all very puzzling this world. And humans are definitely a strange being I must say. Normal... :D :D

Your life started with a purpose.

Your mother and father purposefully came together to make a man. Your father gave the woman sperm and she nurtured, for him, the image of himself.

That is only a sign of a greater purpose.

You may not believe it, but there was a first purpose. THE purpose.
