Maybe because you love animals so much , or you feel guilty that you gave it for adoption instead of keeping it and making sure it's safe with you . There's nothing you can do about it ,because you have an asthma. You can have a sphynx cat . at first I thought they were ugly until i saw them for real, they're very playful pets ,i loved them, they don't have fur so that would be no problem with u , but they need a lot of care . hope this helped :)

You are just attached to it. It does not take a lot of time to become attached to things.

Its normal to curl up into a ball and cry when you lose one.

It just means you have a sensitive heart, and that you care about animals. See what else you can do, because the cat made you have asthma (like @blueberry26 said). Perhaps try to find another type of pet that wouldn't give you asthma (hypoallergenic cats?) or find out what specifically gave you the asthma and maybe get an inhaler to help it?

Don't beat yourself up about giving the cat away, it's in a good home now where the owners and the cat will both be happy - no asthma for you either! It's good that you are letting yourself feel, but try to let it go and don't dwell on all the things you did wrong or didn't do. It's okay!

    Hope I could help (:
