Is it normal that i didn't mind graphic content at ten years old

I'm currently 18 but I feel that my overall way of thinking developed at 10 years old. I always feel weird when I hear people say certain things aren't appropriate for ten year olds to know about. I remember watching R rated slasher movies and Comedy Central shows (I honestly think South Park's characters are the most accurate Portrayal of behavior in that age group) in secret and I loved learning about "inappropriate" things from them. What was weird was a lot of kids my age made some very raunchy jokes and some of them made sure I didn't hear them, which really pissed me off because I loved raunchy stuff at that age. I also swore a lot. I just think people who think of this time in life as "innocent" either come from a much different time than I did or just don't remember it as well as I do.

Yeah I really don't understand the amount of mollycoddling that Americans tend to subject their kids to and also the extremely high age of consent compared to the rest of the world. In the UK it's 16, in France even 15 and in Spain it used to be 13 until they suddenly increased it to 16 about one year or so ago.

I was watching horror movies and cursing ever since I was four. Kids will learn "bad" things no matter how hard someone tries to coddle them.

When I was 10, I loved horror films. I also read huge amounts of creepypasta. Screw happy ponies and learning to be nice, gimme that flowing gore, stab-happy maniacs and otherwordly horrors.

Now I'm a rather well-adjusted individual, albeit with a macabre sense of humour and passion for writing messed up stories.

Kids my age also swore like sailors and talked about blowjobs etc. If you put realistic kids in a movie, it would be R by swear words alone.

    Do what you like.

completely normal, I was a weird ass little shit at ten. graphic content was not shocking in the slightest to me. I think most people just forget that by the time they grow up.

Not sure if you seen my post about my 11yold niece. But pretty much she is into porn now thanks to my sister inlaw but hey we are not complaining. At first I did crack the shits at her for watching porn at a young age but we all do it, we all watched porn and have sex young so better to let her do what she wants now to get experience.

Read my post if you like to.

  • I don't believe your parents should have let you be exposed to that content at such a young age. There are age recommendations for a reason.

They didn't know. And considering this stuff didn't affect me I fail to see the significance of age recommendations.

You are posting on a pretty perverted site, so it may have affected you more than you think lol.

As for why they call kids innocent is not their behavior it's their understanding of what things mean at that age.
