Is it normal that i dislike the sound of a dog that constantly barks?

I'm not talking about the occasional bark because that's just a dog for you. I'm talking about the ones that wake you up. You can't work in your yard or garden because the neighbors dog freaks out and won't shut up. Bark at 2 am, 3 am, 1 am, bark, bark, bark, bark, bark. It does no good to talk to owners or animal control because that just starts a neighbor war. It's crazy! Train your animal!

I think dogs are so much happier if they live mostly indoors. I have noticed a lot of outdoor dogs have the barking problem.

That's true. It's the owner's fault for leaving a dog outside all the time. Dogs crave companionship, and they will bark if left outside alot due to being lonely.

It's very sad when a dog or cat is lonely, because that animal doesn't deserve to suffer. When people don't train their dogs, and just leave them outside, it's terrible neglect, and even abuse. Inside every dog beats the heart of a wolf, and wolves need their pack. The owner needs to step up, and learn how to train the dog, learn how to be the pack leader. Dogs are very sensitive and loving animals. The average dog can better gauge a person's mood by facial expressions and body language than the average person can. Dogs need and want guidance.

A lot of ignorant people just plain don't deserve dogs!

          • Birds born in a cage think flying is an illness. People keeping dogs inside think barking is a problem.

I've never had to deal with dog who had problem barking issues while living indoors. I have usually only seen that in dogs that are left alone in the yard. Dogs are pack animals, and they long to be with their pack. A dog is better off inside the house with a family, and maybe another dog or a cat than stuck outside alone in the yard, or on a chain which is the worst case scenario! Dogs are happiest when they are with their people and the other animals who are part of their pack. Dogs are some of the most loving, and empathetic creatures in God's creation, they deserve to receive love, affection and empathy.

Yeah may be... I don't have any dogs nor do I intend to.
As reckless as i am its very hard for me to care of my self how am I supposed to take care of the dog So keeping the dogs indoor is even more dangerous for a guy like me

Oh man, yeah that's not like me at all.

Right now it's just me, and my Siamese cat staying with my folks. Honestly, I was at my healthiest, and most happy when I had a cat, a dog and two rats! That was when I was married to my first ex husband, and he actually wanted a parrot too.

Yeah some dogs can be annoying with the barking. It really depends on the breed or how they're raised.

I still love dogs, because not all dogs are like that, and most dogs are pretty cool. Some dogs are totally awesome!

My cat can be pretty loud when he wants to be. My mom always thinks he wants something so she offers him meat and fish, but then he just sniffs it, and walks away. Sometimes he's just talking.

LONE WOLF You wonder, yet you are here also.
    You insult something you do.
    There's a word for that.
    As for where I live.
You've never lived in the country in the USA.
There's cows in heat, roosters, dogs, goats, mules, etc.
They make noises, they make smells.
Call the cops all you like.
I've actually known an ass train his dog to bark in order to irritate neighbors he had an issue with.
He was a bit backwoods and well armed.
So, they did call the cops.
    It did absolutely no good.
A dog that barks is considered a part of country life.
I'm not saying it's a nice thing to do.
But don't Assume you know everything or have seen every situation.
BTW, who the hell checks the date a post was made?
If that's the best thing you have to worry about.
I'm guessing you have some issues.

What you are feeling is normal.
I've lived next to shit heads like that also.
    I have a good dog.
If he barks, there's a reason.
No easy answer for your situation.
If you're inside the city limits there are rules.
    Outside, country life.
You may be on your own.
    I'll say this.
    Honey works better than vinegar.

One of the families that lived in one of houses next door to us had about four or five dogs that lived outdoors and they were all barkers. It drove me nuts because my caravan, where I spend time to myself and shut the world out, was next to the fence where the dogs would look through a gap in the fence at the street outside and a couple of the dogs would bark at anything that moved. The family moved out and a few couples that rented the house after them had dogs and they eventually moved out and now a new couple live in the house and they have no dogs which means I got the peace and quiet I've wanted for years. Silence really is golden.

Just yesterday, I was working in the garden. Neighbors dog freaked out entire time I was out there. Would not stop barking period! Was very annoying. Do you think the neighbor would hear the dog and put it inside? NO! Just let it bark. I know for a fact they were home.
Neighbor has two dogs and they are both inside and outside dogs. One barks, the other ignores your presence. I understand breed differences but the owner should teach the nuisance dog not to bark. I completely blame the owner in this situation. This is so very annoying and I have fantasies of shooting this bastard (BOOM, good dog) but, I would never do such a thing. Tired of being held hostage because a dog owner will not take responsibility for their choice to own a dog.

Call the police, not animal control. And they are not allowed to tell them who complained anyways. There are laws against barking dogs in every city in America. They need to either stop it from barking or get rid of it. Call them every time it barks continuously. You have a right to your peace and quiet. So exercise that right.

    • Had a buddy that finally did just this. First time was a warning, second time, the owner had to pay a fine. This owner found out his name from the officer that issued the ticket. He, his wife and children were grossly cursed out by said dog owner while their children were playing in their yard. So...so much for officers following the law, it was a horrible mess. My buddy and his family finally moved, and all because a dog owner would not train nor control their animal. Owning a pet is much like raising a child. You have to teach them and raise them up correctly.

See in the type of person that would collect all the tine of poop they left behind then either b4eak there cars window and leave it on there seat or plaster tgere house it. Probably the second one. Less evidence. Or constantly spam the police. I mean that's just unsanitary and agaisnt city ordance codes. No fucks given on aholes. Shane your friend moved

It's actually not a right in the country.
Piss off your neighbor and they may teach the dog to bark.
