Is it normal that i don't connect with these peoples?

Actually I don't really connect with most of the peoples even my friends they are very diff I mostly conect with foreigners infact I connect with them more then anything else may be coz I watch their movies or TV shows too much but is it really normal?? what should I do so that I connect with these peoples too
PS- I think that may be the reason that I never got a gf

      Well social networking sites mostly & sometimes here & yeah those are Americans
