Is it normal that i don't find how i met your mother funny at all?

I mean the show is totally repetitive at times, it feels like they are exaggerating many funny things. I don't think Barney is geek cool like Sheldon Cooper, or even remotely like House. Not that I'm comparing apples to oranges, but so many times in HIMYM I saw them forcing jokes (like that time when Barney wants to date the British girl and he's blackmailing others at the table). They act childish in a pathetic attempt to make people laugh at their "cuteness". They're not cute! And they are not like Friends! Stop comparing Lily to Phoebe! And just look at the ending, do you think a well written plot should be like that, even for a sitcom?

I couldn't stand the main protagonist, so I basically couldn't bring myself to watch this show.

I swear, that's the reason for me too. That guy acted so much that it appeared forced, and with the capped laughter just made it so much worse. I know many people just liked the show due to social proof fallacies, i.e. "more people like it = show is probably good".
But once you scratch at its surface, it's just a rip off of so many other contemporary sitcoms with just the added twist that now an endless story is being told to two perfectly obedient children. Heck when did 21st century teens get that compliant?

Never saw it. I dI'd see bits and pieces of 2 and a half men at the old laundromat I used to go to. Awful. Just awful.

I don't think I watch any sitcoms anymore, I think the last time I watch a sitcom Steve Carell was still on the office. If you want to call that a sitcom
