Is it normal that i don't have a myspace or facebook?

I'm an introvert. I don't have any real friends, and I like it this way. This means I don't have a MySpace or Facebook, Twitter, etc...

All my family members have one. Ex-girlfriends I've found, old friends from highschool/college, etc...

Am I normal for not having one?...

OMG there's actually more people without one than just me? I thought I was the only one without a FaceBook. To me, this is normal. I don't understand why people need to put their life and interests online for the world to see. Even if it's set to private, pervs can see your profile pic, name, and most likely city and state you live in. I'm very out going, but I prefer to spend my life actually doing things and spend as little time on the computer as possible. If people want to know what I did last weekend, just call or text me instead!

I don't have one either never did. I don't need my life on the Internet. The more info about you on the net, the more weirdos find you. I've got my phone and texting. That's good enough for me. I've had friends get upset cuz I won't get one. They tell me, "but how can you see my pictures?". Email them to me. Simple.

Of course you're normal! Those sites are just for stalkers, I mean Twitter, seriously? Tell the whole world what you are doing every second of your life, wtf? :|

I believe this is normal for your personality, but honestly as long as you are happy with not being on social network sites, then who cares whether it is normal or not, right?

Social networking is just a fad.

It's perfectly normal for me. Though, I think oneday not very far, it will be less normal, people already staring at you for not having a facebook account like you don't have a mobile phone. It's funny!

Personally I quitted my facebook account a long time ago. Cause I didn't just like it. I mean, I am into blogging and other social sites, but places where you talk and write opinions on things. Places that matches my interests too and there is a messageboard to talk about. Facebook most of the time is casual socialization, it's boring, it's not like real deep conversations :P

Nobody uses Myspace anymore, that site completely died. Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr are more popular now, but you're under no obligation to use those if you don't want to.

    Hiya,

I can't read them very well; this size font's fine (this is true and I do know the font can be made bigger but it's a good excuse not to use either)

The only reason to use either is to contact old friends, and there's not one person I can think of that I’d want to contact (although they were good friends at the time)

If they are far away and I never see them why would I want to keep in contact?

Really, the only thing I use facebook for is like as a virtual, super-huge photo album of me and all my friends or family. I also occasionally use it for planning events, or just keeping in touch with long distance people because it can be a little bit more convenient than e-mail.
But if you don't find any appeal out of them, don't use them :)

I detest the way that in order for many people to be certain of your existence, you must have a facebook or its equivalent (preferably facebook.) I have one but never go on it anymore. I wish I'd never gotten one in the first place.

I don't have one myself. I use to be more introverted and still spend a lot of time on my own, so me not having one makes sense in that way. For the past 3 years I have been going out a lot with my friends or talking with them on the phone. I've never found it necessary to maintain or create friendships through myspace, face book, twitter or anything. I think I'm normal and my sister (who is stunning and very popular) doesn't have one either, so to me it's more than normal.

I think it is normal. I don't socialize much either. I did end up getting a facebook account when I was looking for a job because I was told some employees look for that kind of thing. I never really used it though - only became "friends" with family members and blocked out all but my birthdate and name. I didn't even put up a profile picture. I don't think it is worthwhile. All my "friends" on facebook seem to spend their days playing something called farmville - sounds like a comlete waste of time to me. I'm sure if you became interested in meeting people, face to face would probably be better than recieving tweets all day.

you are normal. you mention old friends from college, which leads me to believe you an adult, so you are very normal not to want to bother with myspace and the others. they really started out as networks for kids, though alot of adults do use them.

I have a friend who doesn't have it. At first I was a bit surprised since he's the first person I met in a long time who doesn't have a FB. But we treat him like everyone else. We just think it's an inconvenience for him to not be able to readily contact friends from far away. We're rather more worried for him than about him.
