Is it normal that i don't have facebook?

Ok, so I'm an 18 year old guy, not very social but mostly because I dont talk much, don't drink, party or do anything a "cool" teen is supposed to do, what I'm asking however; Is it normal to not use facebook, at all?
At first it was because I didn't post anything, but now it's because my account seems to portray me as... kinda weird as I haven't done anything in years to it and I don't have any recent photos of myself so I'm stuck with dorky pictures from two years ago.

Haha don't make one. It's where stupid people post stuff that they won't say in real life. And it's like drama. All you see is #realtalk #yolo4lief.

I am 27 years old and do not have a Facebook. I had a Myspace but only because my ex made it for me and that caused drama. I think Facebook has drama or tendencies for it sooner or later. I think of it like this, if you are my friend, we have each others contact information and can text/call on the phone. We could even meet in person. I think Facebook is mostly for girls because they love to show off pictures and for guys who want to meet with girls.

You are free from social stress. Only people who you want to know or be around can do so. Facebook has a privacy setting and you can allow some of your friends to access it, but not all friends? Why even post it up then? I am happy you have joined the free side. One last thing is that I see it is very addicting because the first thing in the morning, my girlfriend gets on Facebook before anything else and is on it a good majority of the time looking at friend's profiles.

And then after you've "facebooked" for hours at a time, what did you actually DO? It's such a useless waste of time... nobody's accomplishing anything. You'd be more productive watching television haha I just like choosing to not know everything about it. Ignorance is bliss, in this case :)

  • Yes, that's normal. What's NOT normal is thinking not having a Facebook page is abnormal. Friends made my Facebook account for me, and I often daydream about just deleting it.
