Is it normal, that i don't know where to start?

I used to be afraid to share my art, but I've managed to overcome that fear. My problem is now with my poems. I want to share them but I don't know where to start first. I've been trying to write them all down on my laptop before I decide to put them on the internet. I feel like if I can write them all down, that they'll in a sense be copyrighted, but I'm starting to feel like that would be completely pointless...

I'm just really scared. I was thinking about sharing my poems on here. I feel safer here than anywhere else and I trust the people on here for the most part. I think if I can share them on here, than I could share them anywhere. I would like to finish typing them down first, but I fear that it would take a tad too long.... Is this normal?

    Yeah, it's normal to feel like that, but I don't think this site is for poems...

      I would only post them on my bio and stories/polls that had something to do with poetry.

    yeah its ok just try not to let other people upset you if it gets to that point if you put them on the net

    Try posting your poems on Poet Sanctuary. I found it a little difficult to navigate around this site at first, but it became easier once I got the hang of it.

    I was going to say post them on your bio too. Dolphinangel did that. This isn't the best site for getting opinions on poems though...I know I wouldn't be of much help b/c I know nothing about writing. XD

      Yeah, Dolphinangel's was the first poem I found on a bio. I know this isn't a poem site but, as long as it gives me the confidence to share my work elsewhere then it should be fine:)

        I decided to stay on IIN b/c I'm afraid to voice my opinion and I have a hard time talking/putting thoughts together, so I thought if I practiced I would get more comfortable with talking and not caring what people think of me. :)

          Same here. Outside of this site, I have a hard time talking to people and no really takes me seriously. On here, I can just be myself:)

          You mentioned art and that you use to be afraid of sharing it...I could have sworn I read something you posted before about this on someones story....also about you being afraid of copyright I'm either crazy or you've said that before..lol. You're the only person I think of when I hear art b/c I know you have a link to your art.

          Then when you wrote "I feel safer here than anywhere else and I trust the people on here for the most part." That reminded me of you too..haha. Maybe the way you write has become familiar to me.

          I guess it's not too hard especially with the people who talk different. Sometimes I even know who will comment on a certain story/poll.
