Is it normal that i don't like dancing(girl)

Whenever I go to weddings with family, I feel very uncomfortable dancing in front of everyone. I feel like I'm being judged constantly and I feel very awkward. Everyone in my family thinks it's weird that I refuse to dance since I am a girl and I am expected to love dancing. I can sort of dance with friends once I warm up to them, but it's difficult. Maybe because I used to get insulted on my dancing. Any ideas on how I could change?

I'm a girl and I hate dancing. I think it makes people look idiotic and it's pointless. Now if it's some kind of cultural or classical dancing, okay, I can see the skill and merit, but when music is playing and people move around because they think it's awkward to stand still, I'm just like... yeah, what is this accomplishing?

I do hate how women are expected to love dancing.

I feel awkward dancing if it's the daylight and I'm not with my close family. I prefer to dance in nightclubs where it is dark and home in my mirror.

I hate it too. I feel awkward and feel like I don't 'do it right', even when it is at things such as weddings. Yes, it obviously has something to do with your confidence - especially if you used to be criticised for your dancing. I just think if it's not a major part of your life, you don't need to worry about it. But it's completely normal.

Haha I wish u could tell that to my family. Everyone in my family loves dancing but me. They think there is something mentally wrong with me I think.

Also I bet you don Drink which is good I find that attractive in a girl since alot of them get drunk and start acting foolish thats when a lot of them like to dance crazy.

Thanks:) yeah, don't drink a whole lot. I just can't seem to have the right moves...and even when I try, someone knocks me back down telling me that I look like some dying animal or something completely insulting like that....

Not everyone is a dancer. I hate it.

It is very hard if you are even slightly self-conscious.

Not sure how you could change. It's essentially a confidence issue, isn't it?
