when i am talking to people i cant look then in the eye, i do not know why it freaks me out, so i have to keep looking at surrounding objects. it was also the same when i was ay school when a teacher wanted to have a serious conversation or to shout at me they would wabt me to look at them and i just couldnt. is this normal??
I don't like looking at people either. I feel like I'm staring at them. I've adapted a way to look at them for a second or two every few minutes so they don't think I'm not interested or not paying attention.
Same. I hate looking at people in the eye, it's like my brain rejects it as if it's taboo or something.
Its not normal either you're painfully shy or you're a jew jews are shifty and normal don't like looking people in the eyes
I don't even look at my girlfriend in the eye , because my face turn red for any kind of eye contact with anyone
I'm the same way except I can look people in the eyes for a short amount of time but then i absolutely have to look elsewhere.
Yeah. I don't find it 'intense,' just boring. Im always looking at things, and actively searching, so focusing on someone seems unnatural, uncomfortable and rude, as it looks like you're dazing off.
If I must look at them, I'll rotate between their eyes, shirt, shoes, shoulder, hair, etc., never looking away or over their shoulder. It's dull though.
You should make an effort to look people in the eyes. It might be difficult at first, but it will build up your confidence and will become natural over time
