Is it normal that i don't swear?

Sometimes people have thought I was weird because of this. If someone asked me to swear I would get embarrassed about it, the most I can say is "bloody", if that's a swear word. By the way I'm 18 and a girl. Is it normal?

Swearing should be done with tact. Swearing all the time and for no reason just shows ignorance. If you are swearing for a good reason and only do it on occasion then it's fine. Also, you should always be considerate of who you are around too. I have often surprised friends by saying a swear word after they have known me for quite a long time; I don't swear that much. I consider your type a very attractive quality in women too.

I don't like swearing either and it makes me very happy to see others who feel this way too. Swearing is very rude, disrespectful, and unnecessary in my opinion.

I don't swear either, I can have a civilized conversation with people and it doesn't include any vulgar language what so ever, even if they do it. I don't know why I don't either, everyone else does it and I wasn't raised thinking it was a bad thing either, I guess i felt in my heart that it was wrong or something.. its nice to know that there are other people out there that are just like me.

I'm 19, and I just can't swear, I never have been able to. I get really embarrassed, too.

I might say "bloody hell" out loud or some other swears under my breath if something frightens, shocks or upsets me, but only if I'm alone. When I'm with other people, I never swear, I use substitute words like "rubbish" or "screw it".
I never considered "damn" to be a swear word though, so I'm kinda okay saying "damnit".

In Australia, bloody isn't a swear word. But we got in trouble once with a tourism campaign with the title: Where the bloody hell are you? Lol

It's quite normal and suggests you have a vocabulary of adjectives considerably better than that of many people.

I don't swear either! I burnt my finger once and all I said was oww - it hurt quite a lot by the way! I guess some people don't see the need! I really don't see the point in words your not allowed to say!

You don't know how some people (like me) really want to be like you. I really don't like swearing, especially it gives the impression of "trying to sound cool or badass" (the very very consistent swearing I mean). But sometimes, or most of the time, they just slip like it's normal blinking.

Meh, the way i see it, in a non formal setting among friends or whatever, words are words, the only power they have outside of that is what power we give them, and that depends on the individual and no one else. No matter what you do, someone will be offended. No matter what you say people will disagree. I'm not saying swear at work or at your wedding, but it's not really that bad a thing either. :p

Personally I prefer it when people curse a little. Anything in excess is no good.

I sometimes do the very opposite of swearing because it has more impact. I have to be extremely angry indeed to say "foo foo fiddlesticks" but whenever I say "heavens to Betsy" or "Oh, my sainted trousers", that's usually just for comic effect.

I'm from Texas and my mama taught me as I was growing up that 'Pretty girls don't have ugly mouths,' but I'll catch myself sometimes when I'm mad or if I fall or something. It's fine.
