It was proooobably me. My bad. Don't worry, though, my bodily fluids wash out pretty easily.
Never had that issue. I worked as a chamber maid for a couple months. I cleaned that shit good, and I know that it is enforced to do so, atleast around here.
If I were you, I wouldn't be worrying about the bed first. My mum is a hotel manager and I've learned quite a bit about these types of things. Most usually, the mattress is covered in a special cloth or plastic and the hotel changes and bleaches all the sheets, blankets, pillows and pillowcases, et cetera between each guest. They also sanitize nearly everything else. There is always the whole "stranger" factor, though. I agree that it can be quite unsettling to think of who was in your hotel bed last and what they were doing in it.
There are, however, a few things hardly anyone thinks of- and this goes for homes as well, because chances are, your hotel room is very likely to be much cleaner than your home bedroom. A recent study found that hotel light switches, television remote controls and doorknobs were the most germ-infested of anything in a hotel room. Having said that, we're all exposed to billions of bacteria everyday- it's actually necessary and beneficial to be, and our immune systems fight them off.
But I like to bring disinfectant wipes just incase..
