Is it normal that i feel homesickness for a place i have never been?

I have wanted to move to japan all my life, I have never visited but often I start crying, usually at night, because I feel homesick for japan, I feel like I am meant to be there.

Is it normal?

  • I've felt that way before. About Ireland and quite simply about nature.

I often felt the same about Scandinavia. It was very strong growing up but it's worn off a little bit recently. I still plan to go, though, and see how I feel. You should visit Japan. If it's what you imagine it is, there are always ways of living there. An ex-colleague of mine taught English out there despite her not knowing any Japanese.

See, you all who feel homesickness for places you've not been in THIS life prove that we do have past lives. No one goes to heaven or hell, you just get reborn!
I've had Deja vu when sailing, especially in the eastern Mediterranean, knowing exactly what's around the next headland, though I'd never been there in this life.

It's normal. I often feel homesickness for Japan, Italy, and India despite me not ever going there.

My heart is in Chicago and yet I've never been there.
Chicago. It just sounds better each time I say it.
