Is it normal that i feel like i need to count/arrange everything?
Alright, so, I'm not sure what this is or if it's normal, although I don't think it is.
I've had this for as long as I can remember, which is my need to count things. I feel like if I don't count things a centain number of times, or touch things a certain way, then bad things will happen. I know it's not true, and I know nothing bad will really happen, but I can't help but touch everything, re-read things, use both hands, re-write, etc.
It's starting to get in the way. Because once, for example, I was taking a test, and I knew the right answer. However, I felt like if I didn't click the other answer, something bad would happen. And I get behind the class when taking notes, because I have to re-write the words I write so that they connect. I hate when people have to wait on me or stare at me because I have to go back and touch things to make sure nothing bad happens. It makes me feel crazy and I can't stand not being able to get from one place to another because I'm touching and counting everything on my way. What if one day, I get a crazy urge and tell myself "If I don't ____, then something bad will happen." and what if it ends up seriously harming me?
I think I've noticed that when I'm distracted, it's not as bad, but it's still there.
What is going on? I feel like a freak. I have a good feeling that this isn't normal..
Sorry for the wall of text. xD
