Is it normal that i feel nothing when its my birthday?

Today is my birthday and I dont feel anything, as if my birthday is meaningless. Sure I survived another year, but there's nothing special about it. I go on like any other normal day.

This has been going on for a while, for the past 4 or 5 birthdays I have felt nothing.

Is it normal?

Well, Happy Birthday. Also, I know how you feel. Last year, I only realised it was my birthday partway through the day when I saw the date on the computer and said, "Hey! That's the same as my birthday".

Yeah, this is SOOOOOOOOOO serious....I mean this is almost as drastic as people starving, suffering from war, rape, abuse, loss of a loved one, having a disability, disease, poverty etc....

You need to get your head out of you ass and be thankfull for being alive and taken care of instead of being a spoiled brat not having any "feelings" for his/her birthday.

And don't tell me your not taken care of because any dumbass who has the time to get on the net and to log onto this site and write something so pointless as your post must be well taken care of to dwell on such rubbish.

You are either 12 or a teenager going through their usual emo/deppressed boohoo stage and if you are older.. get a grip! BOOYAKASHA!

Definitely normal. Birthdays and Christmas is just another day for me now. When I was younger, I'd expect a gift and expect lots of expertly wrapped gifts but not anymore since I should be able to just drive out and buy what I want myself. I don't plan anything special and just go about things as normal. It "is" nice though to at least have someone acknowledge your birthday or for you to receive something though.

    Same thing here.

I've never understood why people make such a big deal out of birthdays. Seems rather pointless to me. I do nothing for my birthday, I don't want people to give me anything or do anything for my birthday. I don't feel it is needed and they shouldn't waste their money on something like my birthday anyway.

Same here. You get used to it I guess. But if the situation changes you can always make a thing of it, right?
