I dont drink or so... But I feel like i am behind my age... Does not anyone else have this feelings? i still feel like I am a student who lives at her parents house and enjoys being a child .... Is this a good or bad thing? Some girls my age have kids... and I am like..NOOO!!

There's no point in growing up too fast. do you think 19 year olds with kids are more grown up than you are? In my opinion, they're moving way too fast. Furthermore, you're not childish for not drinking alcohol. More people should be like you (I know I should).

People develop slowly or quickly in a number of ways. If you feel younger... You may just be younger inside.

Don't worry I'm pretty sure everybody gets those feelings at least every once in a while. I most certainly feel that way at times.

But then I also see all the people around me and just wonder how the heck do they take care of themselves. I know for certain I make better choices then a lot of people. I choose to not get drunk, I choose not to go around, I choose not to take drugs and so on... And don't ever think I'm religious because of that. It actually drives me up the wall when people think I'm religious when I just know how to take care of myself. But I do enjoy going out and having fun with my friends. You don't have to make bad choices at parties or wherever either.

But anyways you seem more mature than others, not drinking and it's better to take things slowly. The faster you are at things the more you'll possibly regret truthfully. I know a lot of people who look back on things they've done like having children so soon and getting married after high school or whatever... they say they wish they didn't move so fast and explored more in the younger years.

" But people or girls my age are so grown up. "

That's mostly because you're that age yourself.

As you age and mature you may find that looking back you'll not feel the same about how mature they are.

First of all, there is nothing wrong with people who enjoy acting like a child, unless they are unable to slip into "adult mode" and stay accomplished in work or school.

Secondly, don't judge maturity on the bases of whether you drink and smoke, these are things that some of the most mature people I know have decided to stay away from because alcohol and cigarettes are not good for you, and alcohol makes us act like morons sometimes.

Finally, i'm 24 and living independently with a fiance and 50 hour a week job. I feel most days like high school was yesterday! So I feel behind my age too!

  • It goes back and forth for me. i have my days where I feel really mature in comparison to some of the idiots I've seen/heard/met from this website.
And really immature when the idiots make a good point.
So my answer will be, its iffy.

  • I feel the same way too! I'm 18. Don't worry I think its a good thing. Its not a bad thing.Congrats! You havent lost your inner child! And so what if other people are more mature than you, being yourself is all that matters. Live the way you want to and enjoy life with no worries. Such useless worrying will only waste precious time! Remember "time is of the essence!" Dont change yourself just to "suit age." Your awsome and perfect the way you are at this moment!! I hope you stay the way you are! C:
