Is it normal that i find drug culture really pathetic?
I've always found it very pathetic when people talked about how they like to get intoxicated and even sort of brag about it. Most of my family members ( even older ones) and friends are this way. I didn't drink alcohol up until about half a year ago but I usually only drink a little to have fun or mostly to gain more confidence and forget painful situations. I'm actually just now of drinking age legally anyways and I mainly started it to gain a better social life, which of course it worked. Either way when people talk about alcohol like it's so super cool to coma drink I still find it very embarrassing to listen to and it makes me cringe. But nothing is as bad currently as weed. Everyone I know takes it and everyone want's me to smoke it. It's even illegal to buy and consume it where I live. I find it so incredibly pathetic that it is apparently a cultural high to take what is basically poison and make your brain numb. Lately I told people that I didn't want to join them in buying weed and they looked at me like I was the geekiest loser in the world. I have nothing against drugs in general or even people who take them. I myself thought about taking certain illegal drugs before and I understand the thought process as well as the struggle. Just the whole peer pressure "cool" lifestyle that goes along with it with most people is just so immature to me.
