Well what you call a nerd is exactlly me. Most people over look me because I'm not popular, but I still have friends, I have glasses, I'm really smart, and extremley shy Around girls I Am attracted to. And so I am thrilled to say Normal.

I liked your post, you basically described me. Except that I worked out and get into good shape not just for health but also because I believe a man should be able to protect himself and his girlfriend if the need arose.

You're making a great choice though-not only are the 'cool' nerds very intelligent, they can be very funny, intriguing (because they tend to have a love of science/art/philosophy/music, etc) and can be amazing lovers since they have a deep respect and admiration for women and are grateful when a sexy girl is attracted to them. Unlike the jocks/pretty boys who take girls for granted, smack them around and treat them like garbage.

Some nerds are social inept/awkward and very insecure, others can be obnoxious because they think their intelligence makes them superior to others...so you do want to get to know them a bit first and weed out the bad ones. But believe me, if you land a good guy like moi, you'll be a very happy camper. ;)

I've been lucky enough to have dated some very beautiful girls who were amazing people on the inside too...just haven't found my ms right yet, but I know I will one day. Best of luck on your search too. <3

I feel the same way, except in reverse. I'm a guy but i find the shy, nerdy, crazy or werid girls more attractive than the normal ones.

I'm a total nerd, I carry a scientific calculator wherever I go, write my shopping list to my iPhone instead of the good-old pen and paper, I solve mathematical equations when I want to relax, writing 50.000 lines-of-code programs just for fun, have played all the video games in history, have bought all the National Geographic magazines of the past two years, Stephen Hawking is my idol, have seen all the documentaries that could exist about the space, time-travel, black holes, aliens, biology, genetics, nuclear and quantum physics, am totally addicted to MIT online lectures, stalking NASA people and astronauts on Twitter, am fan of all the geeky people and pages on Facebook, have a 20-letter unlock password on my computer, base all my descisions to risk-value calculations, have fixed electronic circuits with alluminum foil, wrote a 30-page e-mail to a girl I liked, constantly dream about star deaths, nuclear reactors, protein assemblies and fourrier tranformations. Do I need to say more... So tell me OP, do I fit into your preferences? =) Oh, and yes I do wear glasses. Not because I'm smart but because I can't see well without 'em :P

Intelligence is sexy. And I agree about the glasses, for me its the Peter Parker look that's hot. Be proud that you are attracted to intelligent men, it means you're ahead of the crowd.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I'm the exact same way! I swear we think the same things. My friends always comment on how hot the abercrombie/hollister guys are, and I don't relate at all. I love the intelligent guys, the shy ones, and yes I LOVE GLASSES TOO. The huge muscles are a big turn off for me, i'm all about the personality and intelligence. I thought I was the only one ;)

I think nerds are awesome, it's completely normal. My guy is a complete nerd I must say, he's tall and slim, wears glasses sometimes, is quiet, shy, loves to read and loves Japanese. Fortunately he isn't spotty, smelly or greasy haired either ;) In short, he's the nicest guy I've ever met.

I like a guy who's a mix of those. He hot and muscular and plays football and looks like a jock and he's funny, but he's sooo smart and he's not stupid or disrespectful like most guys.

Im proud to call myself a nerd because i dont necessarily look like one but if anyone gets to know me, they would see i am one. Things i dont understand about technology amazes me and i HAVE to read and learn it. I do a computer games design course, ive earn good grades in my exams. If i buy a new piece of technology e.g. my phone im in no way content with the stock you get with it, i have to know when the newest update is coming, what it will include how i change the look, how i can make it faster etc. I dont get many girlfriends but i have problems with them if that makes sense, i dont really find girls i relate to very often. oh and im English ;) So yes normal!

I'm a geek and my girlfriend loves geekness and nerdness and it makes me happy that someone else has this feeling :)

When it comes to what I find attractive in a guy, the typical and generic hot guy isn't appealing. His face looks too...perfect? I like uniqueness and quirks. Not UGLY, just quirks. Like a cute yet uncommon nose.
However I DO find muscle REALLY appealing. Honestly, if your face isn't gorgeous then you could totally make it up by having gorgeous biceps.

That being said, I love nerds. And when I say nerd I mean guys who like to read comics, watch Star TREK(haha), read good novels, watch anime, etc. However, if he is an idiot it is an immediate turn off.

My ex was a nerdy guy- glasses, COD player, tec wiz- and he found it really weird how i wanted him to embrace that nerdiness because it turns me on. There's a HUGE difference between a real nerd and people who just call themselves nerds. I like smart guys with a higher than average intellect, especially those who actually use it, not guys who use hipster glasses for no other reason than to look "different" and call themselves nerds. Bonus points if he's a gamer like me, epic bonus points if he's a bookworm.

In short, real nerds are attractive. Hipster nerds are not.
