I prefer them because it's what I'm used to. I used to get chided for being the bookworm but if you go on Facebook, suddenly loving books is in vogue when I clearly remember half those fuckers loling at me in school for always being testiculars deep in my novel of the day. Dicks. At least you're honest, shit.

I love real paper books especially the cheap ones. I love old books best. All of my books are in bad shape with the edges missing and pieces ripped off. I take them everywhere, my favorite time to read is in the summer, I read at the pool. Most of my books are all oily from sun tan lotion, I fall asleep on the books. I have books that Ive dropped in the bathtub, they are all wonky but I dried them out and still have them. I wouldn't buy myself a kindle because Im very careless, Id probably break it in a few days.

Vs what not reading at all? Or a kindle/ipad/etc?

Nothing will replace books, the tangible feeling of holding a textile, The anticipation you have for the next words as you turn the page keeping you engaged

The ability to see the whole page and all the words all at one time without having to zoom in and out

Even the smell of books I enjoy, overall I find books keep me much more egaged than reading off of the soulless computer screen

Plus my book is need batteries, wifi, or any shit like that

    -love ur friendly neighborhood bibliophile

I used to be then same way. Then I got a Kindle for Christmas. You don't have to zoom in pages. The background of my Kindle is set to sepia to try to retain some of that bookish novelty. Having my Kindle allows me to read more often and comfortably. I can lay down and have the Kindle in front of my face without losing light caused by the books shadow. I can read in absolute darkness. Yes, you can by a book light but they never work as well as advetised.

Despite newly discovered kindlephilia, graphic novels and comics must still be read in paper.

Real books will always trump e-books and their devices. The latter is not worth it, if it if you ask me.

I have a kindle but I still prefer the feel of a book in my hands.
