Is it normal that i find religion-related issues completely trivial?

I've always found religions, religion debates, coming out as an atheist/agnostic/etc., and any anthropocentric God concept as utterly trivial, and so I've had much trouble trying to comprehend the believers composing the great majority of human beings.

You'd have to reword the question.

I believe that it was a debate that was bound to happen and I believe that it is going to create great division in society if religions do not let go of their hold on government powers. Globalization has made it possible for people in theocratic countries to realize just how many rights and freedoms they are being deprived of (especially as women and minorities) and it is causing them to question the very fabric of their society, which, happens to be religion.

It's only natural that, we as a people, question the existence of God upon realizing that the brand and label God has been oppressing us for centuries. I don't blame anyone for not believing in God, it is one of those "can't be proven, can't be disproven" subjects and I don't blame any logical person for choosing the side that makes the most sense to them.

That said, I do not appreciate people who HAVE chosen the side criticizing the other side. Religion has been a catalyst for oppression for many years and all I can do is live my life as an example to others that for all intents and purposes, religious people can be good people and religion itself is not to blame. I blame greed, lust for power and human inequity in general. Religion was just used as a tool.

I get what u were trying to say. Doesn't need re wording. Religion is trivial. But not at the same time. It's utter nonsense and bullshit crammed down the always open mouths of the ignorant masses that are afraid of the dark, afraid of the unknown, afraid of death and what happens afterward, afraid to have unanswered questions. It's not trivial in the sense of the sheer mass of influence the various creeds and religions have across our planet and over our existence. The atrocities that have been committed in the name of 'god' and whose god is the real god and which book is the real one and stupid religious artifacts. It's so senseless.

It's trivial until they try to kill you for being an atheist.
