Is it normal that i find the concept of bodhisattva appealing ?

I don't believe in buddhism, but if buddhism was real and I could have the choice, I would want to become a Bodhisattva : If I can reach the Nirvana, why not remains during a long time in this world for help the others to do the same ? I know it's Paradise and reincarnate is a Hell, but I think It would be selfish to leave the whole Humanity behind me for avoid pains.
