Is it normal that i found this conversation annoying?

Last night I found a couple at an outdoor diner and one of them was a black guy talking about how “oppressed” he was because a police officer stopped him and he went on about racism and “white supremacy” being the reasons why his life was so hard. Boo hoo.

He rambled for like 20 minutes and the girl was just nodding her head like “I’m so guilty. You’re so right”. Not that I found her attractive, because I don’t like liberal women since they don’t share my Christian/American values.

I’m a Republican so I personally believe that if your life is hard, it’s not society’s fault, it’s yours. Rich people/whites are not to blame because I know a lot of black people like Candace Owens who admit that “white privilege” is a myth and is used so often as an excuse to shift political boundaries.

I had my car searched by police and I appeared Middle Eastern, BUT NOT because of my look, but because I accidentally parked in a federal driveway in a busy downtown street (because Houston traffic sucks). I did a stupid move and got a stupid response. If I had blonde hair and blue eyes, the cops would treat me the same.

You wanna grow up to be a gangsta and play with yo future possibilities by lacking in yo education and aspirations then you DESERVE to be a nobody fo da rest of yo life.
Evolve or go extinct, mothafucka. That's what's up

Yeah it's annoying, dude. It's just the times we live in. For all their belief that they're unique, most openly vocal people just parrot a strain of the current day ideology.

She'd probably be outraged at desegregation if she was born pre 20th century and made it to the 60s

I live in Thailand and if you think white people are racist just take at a look of all these "people of colour." They are far more racist than the average Klan member. Over here the entry price at most places is double for whites than for Asians. In Africa one tribe is always slaughtering another. It's all just a left wing political stance.

This is so true. Recently, as in this year, a McDonald's in China banned black people because they are "too messy". Nobody said a fucking word. Everyone in the area thought it was fine. It was only once Africans American immigrants picked it up that it got any publicity. And all these white westerners are panicking over whether or not they are allowed to like Bob Marley or have dreads in case it's "cultural appropriation"... It's ridiculous.

  • When I was in like sixth grade, there was this annoying kid who enjoyed causing problems. I never stood up to him, but I never made it easy to do anything to me or people I liked

Well one day his older adopted black brother came to me and seemed to be under the impression I was creating issues for his brother, not the other way around. I laughed at him because it was ridiculous and at that point I couldn't be threatened successfully.

The bell rang and I walked away, he began yelling but I didn't care since there was a crowd of people.

Later on I get called to the office. The principle said I called a student a name, and I didn't remember calling anyone anything. I asked him what I said and he said he couldn't repeat it. I ended up laughing and over 2 or 3 hours my amusement turned to frustration since I was getting in trouble and I didn't do anything and I wasn't told what I did.

Eventually they said he claimed I called him a bad name for a black person. But, I didn't even know what that was or its societal implications or that it even existed. I still got like a week of at home suspension or something

This was my first experience with someone that I acknowledged was black. He was put in a situation he didn't like, by himself no less, and he played the race card when he didn't what else to do.

I don't think racism should be practiced, but I also don't think society should tell people that black people have been oppressed for so much for so long that they deserve favoritism.

I know this is one end of the bell curve, but you get people like those super hard core BLM activists who think black people should be given houses, income, and commodities to pursue their passions of hanging out at home. I also have customers who are black who do the same thing, they literally act and think that they just have to say something loud and their blackness is gonna make me compliant.

I've also noticed a trend of black people who are quick to claim racism, they're usually the ones who have never tried to improve themselves or their situation and instead seem to enjoy being in a position where they can be a victim. The person in your post as an example, it really reminds me of a Parks and Rec scene where Tom Haverford was arrested. Just like Tom, that person interacted with a cop and all he can think about is that a white cop stopped a black man.

I watched Pursuit of Happyness and you know Will Smith's character never tried get sympathy for his situation, never made it out like he was owed anything. He even clearly explains his belief on earning what you want when he explains his interpretation of the Thomas Jefferson quote and title of the movie.

I have a small prediction that if things continue as they are, it's gonna get worse and worse with that trend of people claiming more and more ridiculous acts of racism until there's some court decision or bill passed that's gonna take that sense of power away from them

Its funny like 80% of my coworkers are African. Its only the African Americans you see pulling this shit. Me and one girl do not like each other at all. But it never became about race.

My boss who's American and blsck acted like I pulled the race card when I said she sjouldnt be in manual. It requires motivation and all that while she's lazy as fuuck.

It amuses me every hire excluding 2 people since I've started 8 months ago has been black. And of those people most have been lazy as fuck. Dont get me wrong we got some good hard workers who are black but the latest batch can't even be bothered to turn off the damn faucet at work. I keep forgetting to bring that up at work

      • Be careful with how you do things at work. Group psychology and herd mentality are things you should be aware of, and in all honesty you shouldn't expect a situation like that to unfold how you want.

Your state may be a "right to work" state, and they wouldn't need a reason or need to give you one if they fired you

Yea my state is one if those. My boss is such an idiot I can see him doing that. For the most part we get along though. Outright ignore each other when we can. Its not perfect but it works

You are doing the right thing. With those we do not get along with at work, any communication should be kept strictly work-related.

" you get people like those super hard core BLM activists who think black people should be given houses, income, and commodities to pursue their passions of hanging out at home. "

You know the talk about defunding the police and putting money into the community? Haven't they been trying to "put money into the community" for decades and yet it hasn't seemed to work?

      • Not to throw around credibility, my US History honors teacher told us as extra info that any time money is supposed to trickle down to people, it never does

I haven't looked up any police defunding, although I really wouldn't mind if they weren't so focused on getting revenue through the courts

Where I live, the city is doing a lot as far as "reparation" type things; street names and stuff might be renamed and there's supposed to be some housing opportunity programs in low income black communities or something like that, which isn't money but it helps people build themselves up

I haven't looked into the BLM movement that much to be honest, but a segment of that group has been around before its inception, which is the segment I'm talking about when I reference BLM. I do think all lives matter and I think the name is ironically backwards for a group trying to promote equality

I saw a joke once that said the trickle down plan works about as well as giving all the candy to one kid on Halloween and expecting him to distribute it. Right...

"there's supposed to be some housing opportunity programs in low income black communities or something like that, which isn't money but it helps people build themselves up "

That has been tried countless times before and we see how well THAT always goes.

          • I live in a democratic city in a Republican state, we didn't really have rioters, or they weren't that aggressive, it was mostly Protestors

There's a lot going on, the police here haven't been out and about since a month into the virus

I personally think it's just to keep people happy, or at least from having things to be upset about

I'm not sure how I feel about things being catered to a specific group, it almost seems like pandering. I mean there are a ton of homeless in my city for example and most of the ones I see are white, I'm sure some of them could use housing help too

But one of the main guys setting all this up is black, so I'm thinking he's doing damage control

Fair enough but you can't deny that there are racist cops.
That'd just be naive if anything.
