Is it normal that i get on pretty well with teachers?

Right, so i don't really mind it, but it made me think. I get on very well with my english and my history teachers. The first one is english, and we keep babbling on about basically everything, we like the same things, etc etc. And I got to talk a lot to my history teacher because he lives somewhere I do, and there's only one short way to go to school, where we usually meet on the bus or train, or whatever.
Of course both of them are very fair and do not make my life easier on class. Actually, I usually get the hardest questions on history tests, because my teacher knows history is not my strongest subject. Sometimes I try to prove him wrong but it doesn't work, since he's super-intelligent and I am not.
Anyways, I never wanted to talk to them so I could be a teacher's pet, because I am clearly not, with my worst grades in class, but people always think I'm trying to persuade him to give me better grades, which makes me feel awkward. I mean, they are very entertaining, especially when the route home takes an hour and a half.

    • yeah, that kinda makes me think, too. I mean how can a teacher and a student be BFFs, at all!? Even if i talk to him a lot and tell things we were up to and all he is not a friend, clearly. He's a very funny person to talk to, and he has limits. But it would be very awkward if he acted like a best friend. holy moley.

It's a very good thing and helps you mature faster, so don't bother asking whether or not it's normal.
If you're a girl make sure those teachers have morals. For everything there's red lines that shouldn't be crossed, if you know what I mean. On your part, don't misuse these relationships.

    • Yay. Of course, there's nothing like that. We talk and laugh sometimes and if i talk about my problems he gives advice and that's all. Sometimes I do whine for him for example not to write a test but only to exaggerate, and he gives out the tests anyway.
But I like hearing their opinions because they are very smart, and I've learnt lots of things from them. I think in a more logical way nowadays and I'm proud.

its all good man, its not normal because thats just they way it is. not every student gets along well with their teachers. but i say make the most of it, you can learn a lot more outside of class just chatting with these people.
