Scares me too, but more around my fear of drowning, or my fear of the huge pressures at the bottom of ocean trenches, or both. Ironically, I'm a creature that lives at the bottom of an air trench (on the surface of the earth). It's the same thing, just a different group of compounds.
Yeah but so is like 99.9% of all life on the surface, theres no animals that spend their entire lives in the upper atmosphere.
The ocean is another ballpark completely. You have to be aware of yourself 360 degrees in every axis. That or hope you are either armored, fast enough or not worth it to be eaten.
In subnautica my no 1 favorite way to kill something is the prawn fist things to death.
I'm going to have to think more about this (particularly around things like albatross/albatrosses), but I also have to agree with you that prawn fisting is the most noble demise for that quarry.
Then again, I have quite small hands and appreciate the irony in fisting an animal smaller than me but sometimes known as the "big claw".
There is something cathartic about using the drill attachment, especially when paired with a grappler arm to just ride around on a leviathan and just drill into its bits. I feel it should do more damage than just punching since its diamond tipped.
My first lil adventure with my prawn fisting a reaper was when I inadvertently drawn a reaper from the dunes biome to my base, being a massive pussy I couldn't leave my base unarmored until it was gone. So I grabbed all the medkits, and batteries for my repair tool I could find and then for the next 20 minutes had the most entertaining fight in subnautica I have ever had. It was even better than drilling the sea dragon to death. Cause scanning something is way easier if they are already dead.
An alien ocean planet with lots of sealife and a bloody Leviathan that could possibly kill you in the deep waters, yeah I'd be terrified at times
Oh I hate the feeling of looking down and seeing nothing, just abyss. I'm terrified to go even out of the map to get the pda entry on the outer edge. Those ghost leviathans will rip your ass apart.
Yes, it's normal. Some people panic when they realize Mario is drowning.
