Is it normal that i get such bad anxiety that i can't write?

I get such bad anxiety that it becomes impossible for me to due simple functions such as writing, working while I know people are watching, driving, or even talking face to face. It happens for no reason and started about two years ago. It starts for no reason whatsoever. I can feel the anxiety but can typically keep it under control until someone is observing me. Although occasionally it's so bad that my body twitches involuntarily. Do I tell my boss about this or hope no one notices? Which someone will eventually.

Tell the doctor rather than your boss. The doctor should be able to give you something to calm down. Your boss is likely to give you the sack if he thinks you can't do your job properly!

Talk to your doctor. But if you absolutely cannot do that, solve it yourself.

The first thing you need to do is find the source of the anxiety. And destroy it.

I personally believe that you've got a case of social anxiety disorder.

This disorder will generally make you feel severe anxiety once you think you are going to be or are being observed by others. Whether or not that's actually true isn't relevant. It's all about what you think.

There are several ways of greatly reducing your day-to-day anxiety but as far as I know it's impossible to completely diminish it.

The condition of which I speak is, surprisingly, very common. The reason you don't hear about it a lot is because those who suffer from it are put in a scenario of catch 22. To be able to get better you first need to meet new people but to meet new people on a regular basis you first need to get better. Therefore I recommend that even though you might find it hard to get in contact with a psychiatrist, you really should put all your heart into trying.

Social anxiety disorder, also sometimes humourously called S.A.D, is often misstaken for regular shyness. Although it is a type of shyness, it's nowhere near as severe and disabling as what people generally consider shyness.

Good luck! I hope this is not the case :)

I agree with what joybird said. Also, if you get diagnosed before your boss finds out, then he should not be able to legally fire you because of your symptoms. If he did, that would be discrimination, which you could probably sue over. I am not a lawyer though, so I really do not know.
