Every year, my family forces me to go camping for about 2-3 nights. And every year I go camping, I get severely depressed and suicidal. Is it normal?

    I love camping. I spent like 2/3 of my year in a tent with my dog out in the woods. Perks of my job.
    It's like 3 days...your life isn't over. Jesus your family just wants to spend time with you. Later on in life when you're not such a dumbass, you'll look back and appreciate those trips.

    I love camping but I hate going with my in-laws. Every year I am forced to drive 10 hours into the desert to park at a landscaped and man made lake with farmed fish.

    Campgrounds should not have lawn.

    But otherwise, camping is pretty awesome. I get that hanging with family can be depressing, but don't blame nature.

    You're overreacting. It's normal to hate camping (I hate it too), but being suicidal because of it? Just tell them "no".

    I never get suicidal

    I am so very much the opposite. I love camping. The folk music festival is coming up in five days and I can't wait to set up my tent!!!

    Wow, that really sucks. I know what you mean though... I'd much rather stay in a hotel/motel or a cabin. I like electricity, running water, and walls surrounding me!

    I think you NEED a good dose of camping.
    It's not that bad.
    It's a cheap family vacation.
    You are selfish brat to not support your family's attempt to bond with you.
    When you grow up and have your own family, you don't have to go camping, but for now; suck it up you big baby.
