Is it normal that i hate going on holiday?..

For some reason, all I see a holiday as is a week where I have to spend ridiculous amounts of money to get no time to myself and force myself to be social and pretend that I'm having fun. It's just a week where I can't be at home doing my own things. Ugh - and the stress of planning it all, and shopping for stuff, and packing *shudder*.. I thought a holiday was supposed to be relaxing?

I'm from the UK, so good weather is fairly rare; but I don't really mind - I'm not used to hot weather anyway, and just end up getting dehydrated and tired when I go to hotter countries. I enjoy going to see sights and experiencing other cultures, but this usually takes a weekend rather than a whole week..

I dunno - I think I'd just rather spend a week at home where all my stuff is, and spend the money on something which will last more than a week - like a new laptop/save up for a new car etc.

Does anyone else feel like this?

  • I agree with you; relaxing = staying home. :)

Holidays abroad are for adventure and new experiences... And I'm sure it's nice for some people to leave the commitments and responsibilities of their regular lives behind for a while too.

The message really is tho, I’m sure it's nice for some people to leave the commitments and responsibilities of their regular lives behind but for those at home who have none of that, going on holiday should actually be called “going on responsibilities stress” 😉😞

I don't agree with you, I think going on holiday is great! It does cost a lot of money, but in return you get to be in another environment. Do things you wouldn't think of doing at home.

Last summer I went on holiday to Ibiza with a group of friends, it was fantastic! At home I'm usually kind of a quiet person, but Ibiza is the ultimate party island and just to participate in that one giant party and be the person I'm usually not was outrageous. I've done things people at home would never believe I did.

But I think it also makes a difference wether you're happy at home or not. You live by yourself, you can do whatever you please. I'm still a teenager living with my parents, I got rules to follow and holiday means a chance to get away from those rules.

That’s because your clearly a comon baboon with no class... how often do you go drinking with the lads three times a week? Where talking about disliking cultured holidays that have a moderate purpose, not just spanking money and fucking hookers.

I dislike going on vacation aswell, there're so many wonderful things to do right where I am. Without all the worries you've mentioned. Shame I have to travel a lot to visit family and friends, I'd hate it, if it weren't for the people I visit.
