Is it normal that i hate math?
I was never very good in math. I can do the basics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) of course, but when I got into high school it was like trying to learn a whole different language. The stuff I had the most trouble with was factoring and solving equations that involved factoring (such as 2x^2 + 33x + 34 = 100). I took a college math class and failed it because to this day I still don't understand factoring. I want to major in Early Childhood Development, and thought about possibly moving on to a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Ed., but the latter requires that you take 4 math classes (yes, 4!), and at least 2 are the harder ones. Now I am not so sure about moving on to Elementary Ed. because I have absolutely ZERO patience when it comes to math. I don't understand why you have to take so much college-level algebra for an Elementary Ed. degree...grade-school kids aren't taught this stuff until high school, anyway. Is it normal that I have always hated (and still do hate) math?
