Is it normal that i hate my college but i need to stay for my major?

I've been really depressed cause I hate my college and I don't really fit in with the people. I'm from the east coast and my school is in the west, but I miss the east so much. Do you guys think it's normal for me to stay, even though I'm super depressed, just so I can finish my major and get my degree? I have another two years of school. I know in the grand scale of things, two years is nothing, but I feel like it's gonna be really hard to push through. Have any of you hated your schools but you felt like you couldn't leave?

I hated college 3 times and finally blew it off for good, and that was back when you were pretty much certain to get a good job upon graduation.
Today, I'm not at all sure that college is worth the work, cost or time. It seems few graduates get a good job and the degrees are not worth very much in the real world.
But the one thing that diploma does do, is show employers that you can stick with something that is not necessarily pleasant, all the way through.
    Hope that helps.

Is it possible for you to transfer elsewhere?

You have to find something you really enjoy doing and studying. Don't just take a class that your parents or someone tells you to take. Listen to your heart. If you don't like your classes it means you haven't found any subject you're interested in yet. Don't major in something you don't really want to, you will regret it later

  • It depends on why you're attending college. Are you there for the social experience or the education? If the social experience is part of it, then it might be wise to look into relocating to another college with a more familiar population of students.

I hated my school but left. I don't regret leaving but I do regret not going back. Every day should be important to you, and how you feel maters now, not just 2 years down the road. If you can't transfer mid program to the east, my suggestion is that you start finding extra curricular stuff whether is via through the school, or outside of school to make you feel more welcome there. Last option would be to find a way to schedule most of your stuff for one day if you could so you could get it over with, that's if you really don't want to try and make things work, I can't imagine you being THAT much happier if you did that, but thats what my friend does (he gets excellent grades).
