It's so annoying when people obsess over Harry Potter, BUT. They've only watched the movies. When I was reading Harry Potter, people who have only watched the movies kept trying to tell me spoilers. Like, really? Is it normal? I'm not trying to get annoyed I just CAN'T help it.
I feel the same way about people who love the movie Dune but have never read any of the books. The average TV junkie wouldn't be able to understand the book.
The movies are just shallow, empty replicas of the books. You miss out on SO many interesting characters and events if you only stick to the movies.
Well the coolerest people read them before the movies were out so you're lame.
Spoilers are the worst! That's just mean and rude.
But don't show them how annoyed you are because that's what they want.
Also, yes, it's stupid the say you are such a fan of anything if you haven't read the books, or at least acknowledge that obviously the books should be better but you are too lazy to read.
That being said I didn't really read the books but heard the whole thing (unabridged) narrated by Stephen Fry. He's a genius, you should really get those mp3. Please don't get mad at me, I would never compare that with reading! But he really did a good job, even invented an accent for Tonks. <3
