Is it normal that i hate saying please?

Today I asked my aunt for a water bottle, and she had quite a few, and I honestly promised myself that I'd say thank you after she gave me one. But before I even got the bottle, she said in a childish voice, "What's the magic word?"

I felt so downgraded and low. I feel like you shouldn't be forced to say something that you don't mean. It's kinda like how I feel about smiling on camera. It feels so fake and forced and pretending like you had a good time when you really didn't. Please seems so forced and I don't get why people like hearing it.

I actually have nothing against saying thank you, because it is really nice and the right thing to do.

So instead of saying please and then thank you, I just said nevermind. Yeah, it was kind of rude, but it's not something to get your panties in a bunch over. My aunt was so upset that I didn't want her water anymore. And now my parents are extremely upset with me and telling me they're going to take my Christmas gifts back, all because I didn't say please. I feel like everyone's overreacting, and I really just want your opinions.

So is it normal that I don't like saying please?

I think that you should be grateful that your parents and family are teaching you some manners!

A person can get far in life with just the right attitude!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with saying please and thank you, in fact it shows that you have had the correct upbringing in life!

People appreciate others with good manners, the same goes for saying Hello and goodbye when having a telephone conversation...it is the right thing to do!

I hope you will re-think your current status and use your good manners to your benefit!

Goodbye and have a great day!

P.s Thank you for reading my post, I really appreciate it!
see that did not cost me anything and it made you feel better!
