Is it normal that i hate saying please?
Today I asked my aunt for a water bottle, and she had quite a few, and I honestly promised myself that I'd say thank you after she gave me one. But before I even got the bottle, she said in a childish voice, "What's the magic word?"
I felt so downgraded and low. I feel like you shouldn't be forced to say something that you don't mean. It's kinda like how I feel about smiling on camera. It feels so fake and forced and pretending like you had a good time when you really didn't. Please seems so forced and I don't get why people like hearing it.
I actually have nothing against saying thank you, because it is really nice and the right thing to do.
So instead of saying please and then thank you, I just said nevermind. Yeah, it was kind of rude, but it's not something to get your panties in a bunch over. My aunt was so upset that I didn't want her water anymore. And now my parents are extremely upset with me and telling me they're going to take my Christmas gifts back, all because I didn't say please. I feel like everyone's overreacting, and I really just want your opinions.
So is it normal that I don't like saying please?
