Is it normal that i hate the look of voxel based games?
Positives:
-infinite creative possibilities
-community effort
-etc.
I understand that there are great things about these voxel games, but I just can't get past the graphics. I've always thought they looked terrible. Just terrible... A friend of mine has been trying to get me to try it out for years now. He always says he knows I'd be into it if I just gave it an honest chance. He's probably right, but I just don't like the look of it.
What seems strange to me is that I actually really like pixel graphics in games. I think it only looks good in 2D games such as platformers though. Here's some examples of a few games that I have that are pixel based:
-Finding Teddy 2 http://store.steampowered.com/app/341020/
-Insanity's Blade http://store.steampowered.com/app/334190/
-Out There Somewhere http://store.steampowered.com/app/263980/
-Volgarr the Viking http://store.steampowered.com/app/247240/
Here's a few examples of voxel based games too, just for reference:
