    In the UK they are called knickers so the word "panties" is not commonly used over here.

    I'm a guy and I like the word panties, and I like to see girls in them, and I like to wear them, for the same reason that you dislike them; they are frilly, and girly. Love their daintiness and pretty colors and the lace and fringes and bows and cute sayings like "sassy" and "angel", etc! When I'm looking at porn I like to see in-shape guys in pretty panties, too.

    I once knew someone that hated the word.

    I personally don't hate it. However, I do realise that for someone there will always be a word that they hate and this is normal.
