I have a blatant obsession with the obvious. I like to point the obvious out, and this pleases me. I feel like I am doing good when I do this, and that people should thank me. I am being serious.
Is this normal?

      i believe captain obvious just likes to seek attention.

      so yes, in a sense, to make up for their incompetence in any critical thinking, its totally normal to crave attention as if pointing out the obvious makes you special. except it doesn't. pity.
