Is it normal that i have a fear ofclowns?

Ok so I absolute LOATH clowns. When i went to the circus as a young one I was all happy and content until.... THEY came. Scary monsters that I dread the day of ever meeting one again. I avoid anything that looks like a circus in case they r in ther. They made me cry as a child, made me cry wen I was in party city and in the entrance they put the SCARIEST LIFE SIZE CLOWN! I freaked out and ran out if there.... And I'm pretty sure I'm going to be scared of them in the future. Any who, do you think this is normal?? P.s I have heard of the movie "IT" and no I'm never watching it in my life.

    Clowns are some of the most controversial figures to exist. At almost every circus I've been to a clown has made a creepy face at a young child and has had to apologise to the parents of the child when the child burst into tears. Clowns are horrible.

    I've never actually found clowns that intimidating or 'freaky'. Then again as a child I used to go to my Nana and Granddad's house a lot, and he had loads of ornaments and things of clowns, so maybe seeing them so much made me fine with them.
    I guess it's the same feeling as when I see a wide open space, I just feel so weird in my head, all 'spacey' and shaky and just want to get the hell out of the situation. Is that how you feel with clowns?

    I personally HATE clowns, as well.

    They remind me of pedophiles.....think about it.

    But, yeah, i suggest you try watching a movie that will lift your fear a bit, preferably a funny one, about clowns.

    Best way to get over a fear/phobia.....face it, not hardcore and shit, but at your own pace....definitely =}

    It's called "Coulrophobia". Overwhelming fear of clowns. It is a very real phobia. Look it up. It may explain a lot to you when you read about the history and origin of the word.

    You probably shouldn't watch "Killer Clowns from Outer Space" either. But I find that movie very funny.
