Is it normal that i have a "phobia out of jellyfish"?

I am afraid of jellyfish? Something like a phobia but I can't find a jellyfish phobia anywhere on the internet ;-; do you think it's normal to be paranoid when I'm in the sea and be scared eventually panicking that a jellyfish is next to me?

    I think it's normal. I'm not scared, but I do see the reasoning... Weird, transparent, floaty things with no visible features, no eyes, weird tentacles that sting. Sounds like a perfect thing you'd want to avoid. And their stings do hurt.

    I don't like jellyfish on my vacation spots.

    I think it's normal to have phobias of things that can harm or kill you. I believe it was developed evolutionarily as a survival mechanism. I think that's why the most common phobias are to things like snakes, spiders and heights. Jellyfish definitely fit in the harm/kill you category.

    I don’t really have a phobia of jellyfish but I do get paranoid whenever I swim in the sea. I’ve never been stung and I never want to experience being stung and the pain that comes with it.

    Many jellyfish can sting. You are right to be wary of them. See below for an article from Google:

    "While jellyfish stings are painful, most are not emergencies. Expect pain, red marks, itching, numbness, or tingling with a typical sting. But stings from some types of jellyfish — such as the box jellyfish (also called sea wasp) — are very dangerous, and can even be deadly."

      I am not really afraid of the sting itself (not saying that I want to be stung just that it's not what scares me) I know there are harmless ones and deadly ones and they all just scare me the same. Just the thought of something hard to see appearing (you dont see it when its like 5 metres apart you have to be close to it unless the sea is really clear) next to you with all the tentacles, it's jelly and slimy, translucent yet colorfull... I can go on ;-;
