Is it normal that i have sex dreams even though i'm asexual?

Asexual: A sexuality when the sexual person lacks a sexual drive and/or sexual desire.

At least that's how I always described it.

I've never had a sex drive, and as a twenty year old, I don't think I will be getting one anytime soon. Its just in the dreams I like sex, when in the waking world, its just an activity that I don't care for. It just feels a bit confusing how my mind and my body are at odds and I just wanted to know if it was normal.

Maybe nature's finally going 'Gee, there are too many humans out there. Better make it so they don't keep popping babies out'.

Well, here's another asexual for you. Don't listen to what these people are saying, they're not asexual and honestly (no offense) have no idea what they're talking about. Sorry for the lengthy reply, I just want you to understand yourself a little more.

Asexuality isn't a solid thing, there's sort of a spectrum going on. Just as there are bisexual people who lean towards one gender more than another, asexual people range in their sexuality (which is pretty much a lacking of sexuality). Some people are completely at one end (no arousal, etc.) while others are leaning towards the other sexualities.

Either way, one thing is shared between asexual people: no sexual attraction. That means when you see someone, get to know someone, etc., you don't go 'Gee, I'd like to do this person.'. Asexual people can have fantasies, and even react to stimuli (the body usually naturally reacts to it unless there's been trauma or health issues) but they have no desire to get it on with someone else. If you don't get attracted to strangers, but do so once you get close to someone, I believe it's called demisexual.

If you have no sex drive but had it before, you might have a vitamin deficiency, are under a lot of stress, just a bunch of stuff like that you might want to see a doctor for. But-- you said you were like this from the start, so there you have it: you're asexual.

Since I'm asexual too, I'll give you a quick little thing (though as I said before, there's a spectrum and my level of asexuality may vary from someone else's). I never experienced sexual attraction, ever. When I look at people, I see people, I can't tell if someone it 'hot' or not, and I have absolutely no desire to have sex with anyone. I am 18, and have done stuff with an ex (which I'd rather not bring up), but I hated it. My body naturally reacted, but it was a horrible experience. I felt sick, yaddah yaddah, all that....and the other person was very confused because it would take forever, since I had to get off the stimulation alone, as nothing else arouses me. I'm probably on the deep end of the spectrum.

I do dream about sex, however. And you have as well. This is natural, it's caused by hormones and all that jazz, but it doesn't mean anything unless you actually want to go out and do that, and it doesn't mean anything if you're not sexually attracted to anyone.

Drinking is an effective way to deal with your problems.

You may develop new ones, however.
