Is it normal that i have this terrible urge to kill my dog - why!?

I LOVE animals. Like LOVE THEM. I have saved 10+ animals/rescues. I volunteer for the ASPCA, and donate money.

I have no clue why...my dog is so cute and lovable...But I just got this TERRIBLE URGE to kill him! Like literally kill him. Not for doing anything wrong but to honestly kill him! I had to call my mom and grandma and stay the night with my mom because I was so scared I was going to kill him. I have no idea why...I just want to kill him so badly! I talked to my counselor and he asked me about dogs...One bit my sister a LONG time ago and it gave her a huge scar on her arm, and the dog bit me the same day and gave me a 3" scar on my cheek. The dog looks just like my old dog who bit us...Is this my childhood coming out...?

    its just a pity you dont have this same urge about people who kill dogs, but that would take courage, give the dog away its scary you are around animals at all and i bet kids would be in danger too

    I get this urge to..How i coped with not hurting my precious dogs is, I took a pillow and started abusing the pillow, Just close your eyes and start wailing on the pillow.
    I'm sorry but that's the only advice i can give ^^"

    It's not normal. You shouldn't keep the dog, because it's obviously in danger around you. Also, go see a psychiatrist, I think they could really help you, and it's not so bad really. Best of luck.
