Is it normal that i help my cat lick his furr???

Well I've had him since he was a kitten. I do everything for him like buy him shirts and brush his furr, clean his ears, take his eye buggers off with my finger and I collect his nail sheddings but recently when he starts licking his furr or cleaning himself I feel sorry for him because he is a big cat with long hair so this takes him awhile and I feel bad for him so I help my boy out and lick his furr too...is this normal??

    i think he jus loves his kitty, to be honest, i do the same, well, not fully, i want my cat to feel comfortable around me and make him think that i am another cat, for example i rub my face on him as if i was leaving my scent on him, i dont really lick his fur, i wet my fingers and groom him while keeping my face near him, as if i was another cat.
