Is it normal that i ignore stop signs?

Not all stop signs, but if nobody's around or if there's no danger of a collision, why come to a complete stop? It's just a waste of gas.

I proudly and stubbornly ignore all stop signs in parking lots too, they're the stupidest things ever and I see lots of other drivers coming to a complete stop when there's nobody else even remotely near them. Why?

Parking lots are already overengineered as it is, curbs and barriers everywhere, single small entrances and no way to get to the next parking lot over without pulling back onto the road or driving over curbs or shrubberies. Which I've also done.

So that's my way of fighting the system. And no I've never gotten a ticket for a stop sign violation.

    How do you think accidents happen? Do you think some people are so dumb that they're going to fly through an intersection even if they believe that they are at risk of getting hit?

    No.

    Accidents happen because there are boneheads like you who are too arrogant to follow all the traffic laws, and then WHOOPSIE, one of those times that you thought it was safe, it really wasn't.

      Those other people are gonna stop. And who's flying through? I just come to a roll. No need to stop just to waste some gas.

    You're not just fighting the system, but also your fellow man. Remember, these safety and regulation rules exist to make society safe and fair for all. Ignoring a stop sign is like spitting on the welfare and safety of human society. Imagine if these laws did not exist! More people like you would do as they please, and chaos would ensue.

      There's so many laws out there that one can hardly leave their house without breaking one. All the necessary laws were enacted long ago and it seems that more recent laws are merely designed for government fund raising or a "feel good" effect without doing a thing to promote public safety or the greater good.

      Look no further than the Volstead act. It was illegal to have a beer but many did anyway. Lunacy and chaos reigned until it was repealed. There's plenty of marijuana smokers on this site, and marijuana is widely illegal. Are they actively promoting anarchy too?

      I'm just rolling through some stop signs. You make it sound like a scene from the road warrior.

        I worked 8 hours, had a 4 hour exam, and hadnt been home for 20 hours, and I didnt come to a complete stop and a stop sign when I was turning right with no traffic in the middle of the night and got a ticket. So yeah, I'll stop, fucking cop wouldnt let me off, I bet if I had boobs and cried id been golden, so fuck cops im not giving then a reason to waste more of my time BSing me a ticket

    As a delivery driver, I do this all the time. I'm already fucking up my car with all the speed bumps, limit changes, and rushing I have to go through. When I'm the only car in a neighborhood at night with 50 stop signs, I don't give a fuck. I'll slow down, but I won't come to a complete stop. Now if it's still day time and there are cars about I will. I'm not a complete idiot. But then again I just got a new vehicle and I'm still doing this so maybe I am...

    Don't be surprised when your arrogant driving gets you a ticket in the future. Whether there are cars around you or not you are still breaking the law. Imagine if everyone who operates a vehicle drove like you. It would not be so innocent.

    I do the same. Not to "fight the system" (Running a stop sign with no cars is not fighting the system, it's common sense)

    I always slow down, but I rarely come to a complete stop. I only stop when there are cars. Otherwise I slow down, throw a quick look to the left, one to the right and drive.
    Besides, there are enough pot holes, speed bumps and other nonsense that is bad for your car. Now I have to stop at 2 in the morning on an empty street? No way!

    Same. there's a fucking stop sign on a traffic circle on my way home from work, what the fuck?! afaik that's not how traffic circles work... it's too unnatural to stop there instead of just a yield sign.
