Is it normal that i kinda feel dumb bc my bf's gonna be a doctor?

My boyfriend is 27 and is working as a trainee in a hospital right now. In 2-3 years he's gonna be a real doctor. He already has these amazing diplomas/degrees. You can't just become a doctor, you gotta do these hard exams etc. I'm simply working as a management assistant I kinda feel ... dumb? He has this high function and gots lots of respect from basically everyone. Is it normal that I feel less, dumb, worthless? :/

I've known quite a few dumb doctors and many intelligent people, including myself, with no university degrees at all.

If you go around feeling dumb and worthless that's how people will treat you: what's more important is whether or not he treats you with disrespect because you're not as well educated?

Are you interested in returning to school or do you want to get married and have children with him? He is meeting a lot of people, and it is possible that you will grow apart. Have you discussed future plans? Do you feel temporary?

Doctors can be charming and interesting to the people they meet. How they handle their minor star status depends on their character. Some of them take advantage of it and don't make the most faithful husbands. You should try to have conversations and find out where his head is as far as his plans.

I'm sure your bf isn't happy if he knew how you feel because of him. Don't let your low self-esteem gets to you. It's bad. I would be happy enough if I were a management assistant rather than being unemployed right now. Be happy, girl.

Intelligence does not equal good education. Good education does not equal intelligence. There is a corellation there, sure. But I know very smart people without degrees and very extremely primitive people with higher education.

it's a life decision and huge investment to pursue the career choice of becoming a doctor. i'm not saying anyone can do it, but those who are determined often succeed. the only difference between you and him is that he chose that path to become a doctor, and you chose a different path. it doesn't mean that you are dumb. there are plenty of great jobs and careers out there that are not in the medical field.
