Is it normal that i know i'm dreaming but can't control anything?

For the past few months, many of the dreams I've had I immediately know I'm dreaming. However, when I attempt to do simple things like walking, I am simply stuck. I cannot move. I wonder if this means anything. I've read up on lucid dreams and I think it would be awesome controlling my dreams. I've gotten down one step out of two, is there a way I can do that?

Thanks!

I don't understand your last sentence but it's certainly possible to influence your dreams.

Most dreams mean nothing, but similar repetitive ones probably mean your subconscious is trying to tell you something and dreams about being physically stuck often mean you're stuck in some way in your waking life.

Here's a funny story which I came across many years ago and have never forgotten: someone wrote to a stuffy english newspaper asking what could be done about stuck dreams. A reply came back that it was possible to get over this by telling oneself before going to sleep that in the dream h/she could unscrew her/his feet and run on just on the stumps. Someone else then responded that this does work, but you have to remember that the right foot has a right hand thread and the left foot and left hand one. This still makes me laugh as a prime example of dry english humour.

That's normal for me. Realising you're dreaming, and actually being able to control the dream are two very different things.
Normally once I realise, I'm sort of on a threshold to either keep dreaming or wake up out of it. If I keep dreaming, I might have some control...but not much. I try to manifest things, but even though I know it's just a dream, there's usually not much control over it.
